by | Feb 20, 2021 | Firm News

Did you receive a recent data breach letter from Kroger (The Kroger Company) relating to a data breach involving its pharmacies? Recently, Kroger began notifying “customers of its pharmacy and Little Clinic of a data security breach in which patient names and personal information was illegally accessed”.[1]  If you received a data breach letter from Kroger, please contact Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, LLC as soon as possible to understand your legal rights. Kroger’s pharmacy is one of the largest pharmacies in the United States.

What happened?

Kroger announced in February 2021 that certain of its pharmacy customers’ data was exposed through working with Accellion, Inc.

Kroger has publicly represented that it is mailing notices to those customers impacted by the data breach.[2]

How did this happen?

Details of the data breach are still being investigated. But, Kroger has admitted its pharmacy customers’ data and information were improperly disclosed through a data breach involving Accellion, Inc.

What if I think my data may have been exposed or I received a notification from Kroger about the data breach?
