Did you receive a recent security notification from ParkMobile concerning your personal data? If so, please contact Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, LLC to understand your legal rights.

What happened?

ParkMobile, a mobile parking app, announced that on March 26, 2021, they became aware of a cybersecurity incident linked to a vulnerability in a third-party software the company uses. The stolen data includes customer email addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, license plate numbers, hashed passwords and mailing addresses.

So far, it has been reported that approximately 21 million consumers were affected.

Below are the key points about the breach:

  • ParkMobile confirmed that no credit card information was accessed.
  • No data related to a user’s parking transaction history was accessed.
  • Only basic user information was accessed. This includes license plate numbers, as well as email addresses, phone numbers, and vehicle nicknames, if provided by the user. In a small percentage of cases, mailing addresses were also affected.
  • Encrypted passwords were accessed, but not the encryption keys required to read them.

What if I think my data may have been exposed or I received a notification from ParkMobile about the data breach?
